My Students

I teach in a school with a large diverse population of students. I have spent my whole teaching career (6 years) at the same school. I was hired fresh out of college with no idea what I was getting myself into.

I absolutely love my school and my students and I am proud of all of the growth I have made in the past 6 years and I am excited to learn even more.

My students deserve the best teacher and I hope that by continuing my learning I will be able to be an even better educator.

My Project

I am requesting research-based literacy professional developmental books to help me fine-tune my teaching of reading and writing strategies and small groups. Being a first-grade teacher my students need to make HUGE growth in reading and writing.

Having more resources to help my diverse learners will help me to meet the needs of all learners; no matter if they are below, on, or above grade level.

These books will help me to expand my teaching knowledge and expertise in reading and writing. They will also help me to manage student learning needs and encourage them to set personal goals.
