My Students
I have a group of first graders who are excited and love learning. They are really excited about reading and love the daily 5 portion of our day, even asking for it when we have schedule conflicts. They love spending time listening to reading, reading books by themselves, making words, reading to each other, writing in their journals and reading at my table. They are driven to learn and so excited and curious, I love being able to feed that desire!
My Project
My students love learning and they love our literacy time! We explore words, text, reading and learning during our Daily 5 time and they look forward to it each day. These stations support an in-depth approach to learning how to read by allowing my students the opportunity to learn and grow at their own level.
Daily 5 fosters a sense of independence and self-management with my students.
The headphones will allow my students to spend time listening to reading and working with technology at an independent level. The plastic book boxes will be used for each student to be able to pick and manage their own little library, changing out the books each week. I currently use paper boxes and they do not hold up to the wear and tear of daily use. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when I show them these items. They will be so excited! Thank you!
