Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach special education mild/mod and my students love learning through games. My student's disabilities range from autism, specific learning disability, speech impairment, health impairment, intellectually disabled, and vision impairment. My students each have their own individualized goals that they need to meet.
My students love when learning looks like a game.
My students struggle to learn and are sometimes not motivated because they think they cannot do the work. I constantly have to make learning look like a game. I make sight words into a battle between who can get the most words correct. With these games and materials, I can bring more games into my classroom. I love how Are You Ready For looks like a game show. The Alphabet Mystery Box and Alphabet Rockets will be such a great hands-on activity that my students will love to get their hands on.
