My Students

My students are creative and talented students who are passionate about the arts. As a teacher, I aim to use that passion to help them understand and discover the world through science.

All of my students seek to understand the world on a deeper level to be able to translate that understanding into their art.

We will be conducting hands-on investigations inside and outside of the classroom. The students will be learning how to ask questions, observe changes, analyze their observations, find patterns, evaluate, and reflect on the results.

My Project

Learning science should be fun! By gamifying learning, it is possible to create an environment of fun learning. While students are "playing" the card game, Set, they will be increasing their visual perception, aiding with scientific observations. While they are "playing" Tesla vs Edison, they will be learning about the history of science. When the students begin "playing" Terraforming Mars, they will be learning about the engineering necessary for humans to make the move to Mars. The digital clock will be for timing students during games. When students are eager to "play" a new game during during Physics, they will be deepening understanding of concepts that will enhance their ability to understand scientific concepts and critical thinking now and in the future.

Many adults will admit to hating math and science as a student, with worksheets and practice problems doing nothing to ignite their passion for learning.

These new science and math games will excite my students and encourage them to associate science practice in a positive way. As their skills develop and their self-confidence increases, they will be more likely to remember the skills and knowledge learned in their Physics class in years to come.
