This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I love to hear my students respond to my cheers.
I say, "Class, class?" and my students respond, "Yes, yes!"
I say, "Hocus pocus!" and my students say, "Time to focus!"
I love to see their faces light up when they hear that and respond with a confident and strong chorus.
I am teaching 2nd grade and love it every day with these wonderful students. Every day with them is an adventure and filled with love and understanding. I work at a Title I school where most of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Providing my students with this opportunity will increase their cognitive understanding.
My Project
Playing games is one of the easiest ways to engage our students. It is engaging because it involves them, capturing their attention and makes learning fun. The Grab & Match Leveled Math Quickies will help develops skills in operations, money, place value, time, measurement, geometry and fractions. The 24 Game Double Digits will help problem solving strategies and has three levels of difficulty. The Word Search Game will provide reading through and searching for hidden words in a game playing setting. The Can Do! Reading Games will give easy-to-play games provide fun, skill-building practice with shades of meaning, vowel sounds, sight-words and more with every spin! Each game canister comes with a handy lid that doubles as a spinner, plus 44 game tokens and 60 question cards designed to build foundational skills. Playing games will be a great way to build community in our school.
