My students need reading and math games to engage in learning in differential ways.

My Students
Students walk into my classroom full of energy and ready to learn. Many of my students have challenges that stand in the way, making learning harder for them. I teach special education students from kindergarten to 5th grade. My school is in an urban area with about 70% receiving free/reduced lunch. Since I teach special education, I need hands-on, engaging ways to teach my students the curriculum. My students come into my classroom for help, sometimes feeling hopeful but other times feeling like failures. Each student has different academic needs, as well as, different emotional needs.
My Project
I am requesting games for my classroom as a way to allow my students to have differential ways to learn the skills they are having a hard time understanding. The math games I am requesting work with place value and money. My students have a hard time working on both skills, but in a game format the students with have a chance to learn the skill in a different, hands-on way. The money game allows the students to deal with money just as they would in real life. The reading games work on phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. Within the four main areas, the students will also work on informational text, reading literature, language skills, and phonemic awareness.
Any donation to my project will allow my students the chance to improve their math and reading skills while also working on social skills and taking turns.
Everything in my request will allow the students to gain new educational knowledge while having fun learning!
