Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in a very high-poverty neighborhood that offers a dual language program for grades K-3. Our goal is to make our students proficient in both English and Spanish.

Kids learn at a variety of levels. Throw in a language barrier, low socioeconomic status, and lack of support from home they tend to fall further behind their peers.

Kids learn more by doing! By providing my students with games that they can play, that are related to key math and reading concepts, they will quickly understand previously taught concepts. I wish to gain games that teach telling time, counting money, place value, reading comprehension, inferencing, and finding the main idea with supporting details.

My goal is to make learning fun and meaningful for my kids. By allowing them time to play with the concepts that these games teach, my kids will have an extra advantage at passing their assessments and becoming life long learners.
