This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Most of my Transitional Kindergarten students are attending school for the first time, and they are very eager to learn new concepts like their ABC's and 123's. There are so many other important skills that they learn like science, social studies, SEL, and physical education. There are many digital tools and resources on the internet that can enhance the learning of these very important skills.
Having a MacBook Air will allow my students to have digital tools in the classroom that will assist them in learning in a fun and engaging way.
For example, google slides will be used to teach the alphabet, phonemic awareness, high frequency words, vocabulary, science lessons, and social studies lessons. The slides are colorful and have animation that make learning fun for the students. SEL lessons will be brought to life by using the digital content online which has videos and engaging lessons. Math lessons also have a digital component to help students understand the concepts being taught. There are also great online resources that help give students a brain break when they need to have some wiggle time. There are so many online resources to reinforce all the academic subjects being taught. If my students had access to these digital tools, their learning would increase because they would be more engaged in the lessons.
