Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have the amazing opportunity to be the teacher of nineteen students in a dual immersion classroom. My students love learning the Spanish language and have demonstrated significant growth! My students are becoming independent learners! One of the areas that they have grown the most in is their writing! Eighty-four percent of my students can independently write 4-5 sentences using correct capitalization, spacing, punctuation, spelling, and use transition words. In our classroom, we use positive reinforcement through incentives such as small prizes. We prioritize positive behaviors and strive to do our best on assignments and incentives help promote that success! In addition, my desire is that my students become responsible individuals. Therefore, our classroom is always very organized and tidy (including my students' desks). Being a teacher requires organization skills and time management, as a result, I have found some resources that would greatly benefit my students as I could be more efficient with organizing their work, assignments, and assessments. Some of the items that I am requesting also promote creativity in the classroom. My students love painting and creating things. Therefore, providing my students with the materials needed for these artistic activities would be a huge blessing to all of us! Thank you so much for your consideration.
