Learning Through Challenging Times

Help me give my students academic instruction as close to in-class learning as possible. The magnetic dry erase board along with the magnetic math tools will help me provide my students with a highly beneficial visual lesson.

My Students

The children I work with have a range of academic disabilities, emotional troubles, and social challenges but they don't allow that to stop them. They work hard to gain an understanding of what is taught in class and don't hesitate to ask or say when they don't understand something and need help. Because of their determination, I strive to meet them at their needs and build them up.

My class community consists of 14 awesome children.

A mixture of boys and girls that will be for the first time starting the school year through remote learning. Their grades range from kindergarten to fourth. Some live in a shelter while the rest live in a poverty-stricken neighborhood in housing projects or low-income buildings, but they all live in the neighborhood of the school which has a high crime rate. Because of this unusual and inevitable change in the world as we knew it, supplies will be needed to be able to give these children an education as close as what they are used to as possible.

My Project

Due to the global pandemic that we are currently experiencing the dry erase boards and markers will allow me to model instruction as I teach lessons remotely. My students need visually engaging instruction and the magnetic items such as money, base ten counters, and ten frames will allow me to be able to provide them with a more visually stimulating experience when I am modeling new skills during online math classes. These materials will allow me to make their in-home learning experience closer to being in the classroom as possible.
