My Students

I am currently a fully self-contained preschool special education teacher in a Title I elementary school in Hawaii. More than half of my students are from low income families. I have preschool students with various disabilities and delays including autism, fine motor, gross motor, speech/communication, behavior management, social emotional needs developmental delays and medically fragile.

My students are full of energy, loving, caring, spirited and eager to learn group.

My Project

I want to encourage my students to be independent learners and develop an intrinsic love for learning. My students are ambitious and eager to learn.

I am trying to build my classroom library for my students to be able to select books of interest and be exposed to many types of literature.

I want to offer them a library full of different choices of books to read to help inspire them to love reading. I am asking to purchase books through Amazon and to make books through Teacher Pay Teacher that will build on lessons learned and cater to student interests. I am asking for a printer to be able to print the books purchased through Teacher Pay Teachers.

My students are curious to learn about sea animals, apples, seasons, plants and bugs. They are eager to learn math concepts such as shapes, color, counting and sorting.

I will display books in various learning centers to encourage them to read and for them to select during our center time.

I am hoping to encourage my students to love books and provide my students with a great learning experience.
