This year I'm teaching 13 third-grade students. The class is made up of students who live in a variety of home environments with cultural and economic diverse lives. This group of students will benefit from extra support with their studies now that they are back in-person. The last time they were in a school building to learn before this year was when they were first graders. These students learn best through engaging hands on projects, imagery, and music.
These students have made strides with what they have, but I believe they will soar even higher with the right tools that allow them to learn in the way that best suits their needs during this more challenging time.
My Project
Integrating art with other disciplines reaches students who might not otherwise be engaged in class work. Arts experiences boost critical thinking, teaching students to take the time to be more careful and thorough in how they observe the world. The colored pencils, crayons and markers will help my students show their creativity and learn through art. In a time where we cannot create with each other and use community supplies, these materials can be distributed individually so each student has their own set.
Teachers Pay Teachers is a platform created by teachers, for teachers to access materials, content, and tools they need to teach at their best.
The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will help me to have access to resources created for a variety of learning levels to differentiate for each student. It will also help me be able to utilize online resources that can be uploaded for virtual learning in the event we move to learning from home.
