My students need tempera paint, crayons, construction paper, and brushes to develop their creativity. Art is another way of thinking and learning. It transfers to all subjects and helps develop critical thinking and problem skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, artistic, energetic students from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and socioeconomic status. They are between the ages of 6 and 8. Many times 75% to 85% of my students are on free or reduced lunch.
My classroom has a mixture of students from ESE to Gifted to ESOL.
My English as a Second Language Learners are between Levels 1-4, and my many of my ESE students have a variety of learning accommodations and although sometimes struggle they never give up and everyone of them is full of potential and eager to learn! It's my job to ensure that they have all the tools they need to succeed!
My Project
These art supplies will definitely make a difference in my students learning. The majority of my students are English Language Learners and Special Needs students that need a variety of accommodations to help them learn. Giving them an artistic, creative way to express themselves and their learning will help them gain the confidence to succeed in all subjects.
The students will use the paint, crayons, colored pencils, construction paper, craft sticks and paintbrushes to express themselves and demonstrate their understanding by painting pictures of vocabulary words in Science and Social Studies, as well as illustrating pictures for their writing in Reading/Language Arts.
Art helps students develop language skills, cultural awareness, critical thinking, problem solving skills, decision making skills, organizational skills and motor skills. It makes learning fun and educational! Encouraging my students to use their imaginations will help focus and improve their academic performance.
