My students need six digital cameras to explore and document the world around them in new and creative ways using technology.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Spergl's classroom raised $609
This project is fully funded
My Students
Children now take photos with smart phones and iPads. Students can learn how to use the perspective of looking through a lens to learn about the world around them. Children can explore creative ways to integrate technology and photography into their daily lives.
I teach an AMAZING group of Kindergarteners in a public school.
They truly LOVE learning and inspire each other as well as myself every day! Children learn best through interactive, meaningful projects. My group of students are extremely motivated and take our projects and learning to the next level. My school is a diverse community where we are able learn about cultures and traditions from around the world.
My Project
Integrating the use of digital photography into our curriculum has so many possibilities for fun, creative learning. The six cameras will be used in the areas of math, science, social studies, reading, writing and so much more! Students will take photos of things in the classroom and label them to encourage the use of environmental print for early readers and English language learners. In math, we will look for various patterns in our environment, take photos of them and share what we learned with peers. The cameras will be an important tool throughout our "School Study." We will take photos and videos of staff members we interview in the school and learn about their roles in our school community. We will look closely at the structure of the school building, learn about its 110 year history and document our findings through photography. Photographs placed within children's illustrations make large murals unique and interesting. The possibilities are endless!
Please consider supporting our project!
The use of digital photography in our daily classroom lives will enrich our learning in so many meaningful ways. The use of photography and visuals greatly benefit children with special needs as well as English language learners. Students will learn to look at the world around them through an artist or scientist eye and open doors to exciting learning experiences!
