Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school has five hundred and twenty-seven students and is a Title I school!
My first graders are full of energy and are ready to learn!
My students are always eager to want to know and learn more! They ask many questions, they talk a lot, they are curious and so much more! We are discovering, learning manners, social skills, academics, and tons more!
Most of our students are English language learners and the majority of our students qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program.
My Project
Learning the alphabet and its sounds is a huge part of learning how to read, new vocabulary, and write! I have many English Language Learners in my classroom and as an English Language Learner myself, I know the importance of being able to interact with a visual in order to know what something is and build vocabulary.
Having hands-on materials is extremely important for young learners!
Hands-on materials are essential in order to learn because they help with interacting and learning new vocabulary while learning the letter sounds and letter names.
I want to be able to provide my students with many hands-on materials as possible in order to help them learn the alphabet.
These teaching tubs will help my students identify and sort a variety of miniatures, play memory games and build vocabulary skills.
