Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my classroom have all been diagnosed with autism. As a result they are all nonverbal or very minimally verbal. My main focus with my students is to improve their language skills since it is the natural form of communication.
Communication and language are a gift.
This is a gift I would like help all my students develop while in my classroom. My students learn best visually. Therefore, I create and use as many visuals and tactile objects as I can during each lesson. Unfortunately this becomes expensive which is why I am turning to Donors choose. Please help me help my students.
My Project
My students are able to learn best when they are able to feel, see and touch. Therefore the "alphabet sounds teaching tub" is a great way to help the students learn their letters and sounds. Each tub comes with 6 items that are used to represent each letter of the alphabet.
The Teaching Tubs let kids identify and sort a variety of adorable miniatures, play memory games and build vocabulary skills.
The items are also able to be manipulated in a safe way. This item in conjunction with the many other classroom supports will help my students learn such important foundation skills.
