Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Introducing the alphabet to my Pre-K 4 students will be an engaging and developmentally appropriate experience through the use of alphabet puppets. Each week, instruction will focus on a specific letter, with a corresponding puppet serving as a consistent visual and tactile aid. The individualized design of each puppet is intended to sustain student attention and strengthen letter-sound associations. This multimodal approach supports early literacy development by reinforcing letter recognition and promoting long-term retention through visual and interactive learning strategies.
To further enhance the effectiveness of this instructional tool, the puppets will be displayed using a designated stand.
This stand allows the puppets to remain visible and organized, offering students an ongoing visual reminder of previously introduced letters. In addition to reinforcing prior learning, this display may also spark curiosity and anticipation for upcoming letters. Therefore, both the alphabet puppets and the stand are integral to creating an immersive and supportive alphabet-learning environment.
