Our school is situated in a rural area surrounded by beautiful mountains, farms, and a wonderful neighborhood!
Kindergarten is such a new and exciting adventure for the teacher and the students!
Many times, kindergarten can be a student's first real experience in a classroom environment, and I want to make it as safe and enjoyable as possible. My goal is to have students come to school excited and ready to learn each day! It is such an honor, as their teacher, to lay the educational foundation for these little learners! I can't wait to see all the learning that will take place this school year!
My Project
Teaching Kindergarten through the Covid 19 Pandemic has been challenging!
In an environment where students are usually encouraged to share, work closely together and participate in group center activities, teachers have had to become more creative in their teaching practices to ensure the safest, and healthiest environment possible!
I would love each student to have a set of decodable readers to keep at home to practice their reading skills. Using a "witch finger" as they point to words on the page, will help make reading more fun and motivating for students at home!
To ensure the health and safety of my students, I am requesting some Clorox wipes to keep our classroom desks nice and clean, along with some paper organizing trays. I am also requesting a set of highlighters & crayons (1 for each student), and a class set of replacement headphones (1 for each student) so that they don't have to share supplies, which will help the spread of germs.
