This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Kindergarten to some of the hardest working 5 and 6 year-olds around! They love to learn and get their hands dirty. My students live in an extremely low-income area which often limits their exposure to life experiences. Because of this, I try to bring as many real-life discoveries into our classroom that I can. My students take on every challenge head-on and would love to have a science-based classroom!

My students love to interact with hands-on materials and explore the world around them.

They have exciting questions about their world and enjoy digging in to find the answers!

My Project

My students would be so excited to receive this donation of science kits to take home and practice with!

My kids love to learn, and they do their best learning when they get to dig into materials and explore with all of their senses!

Students learn best when they have to explain their learning to someone else. By funding these STEM kits, you would help students do both things at once! My kids would be getting some real-life science experience, they would get the practice explaining their thinking and using great language skills. They would get to engage family members in their explorations and really make science a part of their everyday lives!

My hope is to build my little engineers' love of science, even outside of the school day! I believe that my students would enjoy sharing their daily learning with family members. I know that they would be so excited to take home materials from school and would "play" with them endlessly until suddenly, they have mastered complex skills! This would really help me to build a home and school connection as families would know what their students are working on. This project would help in the development of the whole child and help build family bonds and a strong home and school relationship.
