Learning Stations That Promote Growth

Help me give my students the resources they need to grow and be productive in the classroom. We are in desperate need of manipulatives that would help enhance our time during stations in literacy and math.

My Students

Math...a universal language that many students are able to achieve and demonstrate success. Learning the English language and phonetics is a task that can be difficult for students who speak other languages. The students in my classroom come from countries such as Nepal, Somalia, Syria, Burma, Ethiopia, and Congo. Our elementary school is the neighborhood school where our families feel their child is receiving the best education from some of the best educators. This is where the learning begins for our students and families.

My Project

Manipulatives support student engagement and differentiation. Working in a school where learning levels vary, students need a resource that will provide strategies and go deeper in learning new concepts. Students will use the manipulatives to build a conceptual understanding of the content as well as provide ownership in their learning. These materials would be used during small group instruction as well as in learning stations for students to use kinesthetic and visual representation to retain and recall mathematical facts and literary concepts. Donating to this project would truly be an asset in our learning environment and how my students would grow academically.
