My students need pajamas so they can get a good night sleep and come to school ready to learn!

My Students

This year, my students are from a mix of grades! During physical education, it is their time to shine in a different way in school, through physical activity. It's a way for students to see their skills outside of the classroom.

Many of my students are from low-income households and live in small, cramped, and crowded spaces; and that's if they're not living in a temporary housing unit or shelter.

There is not much green space or large safe spaces for them to run around and play in. Physical Education class gives them the chance to grow in a way they often could not outside of school. In order to get my students up and moving, I need materials that cater to their size, growth, and development. This includes athletic equipment and basic life needs like snacks, sneakers, and clothing items.

My Project

I am having my school's second annual pajamas drive this winter. Going to sleep in jeans, doesn't make for a good nights sleep! Nothing makes a night better than a new, warm, clean pair of pajamas!

Many of my students experience homeless, live in shelters and public housing.

When some of them received pajamas last year, they had no idea what pajamas even were. I want to be able to give to more students this year. Nobody should go without basic necessities, especially children facing circumstances that they in no way brought upon themselves.

Teaching isn't always about what goes on in the classroom, it's about how to improve and help your students in all aspects of life. A small gesture like this, can make a world of difference for them. Thank you for your help!
