The students that I work with in Special Education often need extra instruction for skills that are not explicitly taught like social skills, emotions, and executive functions. I would like to use these game-style activities to help keep students engaged in learning while viewing school and speech therapy as positive, motivating places.
Having fun, game-style activities to use during speech therapy will allow my students to work on their speech/language goals without even realizing it!
The Donut Dilemma game and companion cards focus on supporting a student's growth in exploring problematic decisions, considering consequences, and finding the best solution. What a fun presentation of stacking toy donuts while learning!
The Scoop & Stack game includes game cards that support a student's pragmatic and decision-making skills. It targets all five core competency areas of social and emotional learning: Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, Self Management, Self Awareness, and Decision-Making.
The Pop-Up Super Mario game can be paired with any cards for a twist on the game presentation. This popular theme will be a hit with any age group!
Games are also great for team building, creating social interaction, and creating countless language opportunities.
It can be very difficult to find materials that students like and enjoy, and I think these materials will be extremely motivating for them.
I know my students will be motivated to participate in speech therapy with these motivating materials, and I am so grateful for any support for this project.
