My Project
I love how excited my students are to try and learn new things! They are always eager and enthusiastic to jump into discussions and activities when I introduce new topics. I often tie games into our our lessons to keep them engaged and learning in a fun way. However, gameplay in itself is a big part of learning in Kindergarten.
I want my students to learn good communication, teamwork and sportsmanship skills when playing games together.
In order for us to grasp the concepts that are taught through academic focused games, it is important that they have the opportunities to practice playing a variety of games. I would like to start teaching them how to play traditional board and card games to to help practice these important life and social skills.
I will be using the fishing game to modify for use with letters, numbers, high frequency words, etc. as well.
Also, I have included a doctor and dentist play sets in this project. I would like my students to have the opportunity play to prepare and process their medical and dental experiences. Several of my students have demonstrated anxiety about these types of appointments and procedures. Also, these will supplement our community helpers and health units.
We are also in need of new crayons to help get through the rest of the year, so I have added those as well.
