This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Navigating through challenges of being in a new environment, dealing with other littles with different interests and ideas can be stressful for early learners. My kids need exposure to engaging learning opportunities that are fun, lending to shared experiences and common ground to promote a nurturing and respectful classroom environment.
With items such as a spinner seat, children enhance core body skills and strength, experience joy, and simultaneously explore essential social skills.
STEM activities are perfect for higher level thinking and are easily differentiated for special students Emotions occur every minute of every day and engaging in A Little Spot of Emotions promotes critical life skills in identification of emotions and can be extended to reactive regulation.
My kids for years to come will benefit from these uniquely fun learning opportunities, and we have you to thank. They will be constantly learning through play which is imperative at this age, but not just learning for the moment; these experiences will carry them through future challenges that they will face.
My kids literally crave important and necessary social-emotional skills. They want to love their friends and grow to be the best they can be, but with such a lack of exposure, they are lost. I feel so hopeful that I might be able to use these materials in order to embed positive interactions in such a fun way, in all aspects of our day together for a stronger, happier classroom family.
