This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low income homes and often do not have extra funds for learning supplies. Most of their learning is done in the classroom. I want them to make the most of our learning at school and give them access to a variety of learning games.
My Project
This rug will allow each student to have a spot on the rug for us to learn as a whole group on the floor, while still maintaining space between each student. The school does not have carpet in the rooms and cold cement floor is far from inviting. The rug will make a comfy spot for our learning. Additionally, the phonics supplies/puzzles will make learning to read more fun and engaging. The puzzles provide additional practice learning the alphabet. The other resources also give the students opportunities to practice writing and making the sounds each letter makes.
