My Students
My students are part of a four-year Information Technology program. Students learn Introduction to Information Technology (Year 1), Digital Media(Year 2), Web Design(Year 3), and AP Computer Science Principles(Year 4).We are a STEM / STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) school. Currently, there are just under 200 students in grade 9-12. More than half of my students are from low-income households. My classroom infuses STEM / STEAM into the curriculum to allow students to have a cross-curriculum instruction that incorporates their core subject areas.
My Project
These materials will be used in the following ways to support my students in practicing public speaking skills. The Clicker will be used during presentations so students can switch slides easier and more efficiently.With the microphone and speaker, my students will be able to learn about speaking into a microphone when giving a presentation as well as using the speaker when we need to project the volume of instructional videos in the classroom.
Practicing public speaking is a part of getting students College and Career Ready.
Our last Donorschoose project we lucky enough to get funded and we received a Polaroid Camera. Students have been enjoying taken their pictures and decorating our classroom wall with pictures of students who are in the class. The Fujifilm is to get more film so we can take even more pictures.
