This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic and curious about the world. They come to school eager, ready to learn and meet challenges head-on. Their growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning is contagious, as they inspire me to challenge them and empower them with the skills they need to prepare them for the multi-cultural 21st century. They live in a low-income neighborhood, with a high Hispanic population, and to most, English is their second language. One hundred percent of them qualify for free lunch.
My Project
The four Surf Portable Lap Desk/Laptop Stand/Writing Tables will provide my students with new seating options when working independently. My students will be able to use their Chromebooks or write in a comfortable position. Flexible seating has improved academic performance in reading, writing, and mathematics, so my students will benefit tremendously from having these materials in our classroom. The markers and chart paper will be used during reading, writing, and math lessons.
These materials will make our classroom a welcoming learning environment.
Every one of my students is eager to learn, and having access to these materials is necessary for their growth.
