The Kinder-Cub Family is ready to read and write! I am a kindergarten teacher in high-need community with 18 kindergartners itching to learn more about reading and writing.
Our Kinder-Cubs have already shown an inspiring excitement about learning anything they can while they are here at school. Unfortunately, because of lack of funding, we are not able to get some of the resources that we need to help them continue on this path of becoming life-long learners.
The mobile reading and writing center fits the needs of all of my students! For those who are emerging readers and writers, the magnet board will allow them to manipulate letters so they can become more familiar with their shapes and sounds and will help them to become readers and writers. For those learners who are right on target, this center will give them an area where they can expand their reading and writing skills so they can keep moving forward. For the advanced learners in my classroom, this center will give them the opportunity to use a variety of reading and writing strategies so their learning track will not plateau out, but it will continue to rise and break right through any barriers!
If I didn't believe that one person could truly make a difference, I would not be in the teaching profession. YOU are one person who can make a difference in a classroom of children who deserve many opportunities to learn. Kindergartners believe that all things are possible, and I believe that every Kinder-Cub that leaves my classroom this year can be a reader, a writer, and a life-long learner!
