Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This spring, help me bring the world of geometry to life for two intermediate-grade students. Creating circles with rulers reveals the finer points of geometry in ways that worksheets can't. They will experiment with clay as we investigate area, perimeter, and volume. Origami frog jumping ties geometry to mean and mode, and provides some friendly competition!
During the stressful Spring season, with all the learning and testing atmosphere, working with watercolors allows one to take a breath.
Letting creative juices flow improves focus and concentration, boosts confidence, and promotes mindfulness.
The clay, colored paper, markers, and other items will be used throughout the year to make lessons come alive, teach mathematical concepts, broaden students' awareness, and strengthen their fine motor skills.
