Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In the first grade students have to learn many math state objectives. Students have different ways of learning and some of them struggle more to learn certain math objectives.
Therefore, I need to provide my students with different types of math resources that will support their learning.
A resource that I’m requesting is the daily number of the day chart. It will give my students the opportunity to practice how to form a given number in different ways. My students will be able to learn different math skills through daily repetition.
The other resources that I’m requesting in this project are for my students to be able to learn and practice their math facts. The abacus is a resource that my students will use to add, subtract or count. The other resource is the glue glitter. They will be able to create their own pictures where they will count, add or subtract.
I’m also requesting Bingo games that will assist my students to learn to add, tell time and identify numbers. The student clocks will also assist them on how to tell time.
All of these resources that I’m requesting will be of a great benefit for each of my students as all resources will be used as a whole class, in small groups or in one on one instruction.
