My Project
The students in my classroom have all been diagnosed with autism. As a result, they are all nonverbal or minimally verbal. My main focus with my students is to improve their cognitive, social and language skills. As a result, help increase their independence and ability to care for themselves.
This project will be used to help my students learn and gain functional skills to navigate throughout the day.
These activities will be used in their classroom workstations to help maintain their acquired skills while gaining independence in navigating the workstation. The materials purchased, such as copying geometric shapes from a model, putting together gears to make them spin, magnetic blocks to create pictures from a picture card, recreating a marble run from a picture card etc. will be used to facilitate independence. Our children are capable of so much and need to be given the proper materials to help them learn. Unfortunately, this becomes expensive which is why I am turning to Donors Choose. Please help me help my students.
