This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Second grade students are incredible learners! Our inner-city school has a very diverse population of low-income households. Even though these students are experiencing major obstacles in their lives, they come to school with enthusiasm and are eager to learn every day! They look forward to coming to a safe, respectful environment and taking advantage of any opportunity to learn. I would love to give my students the best resources available in order to make their learning experience as beneficial as possible for them because they are my heroes.

My Project

We need to see things up close and personal using an easel for daily lessons, to help them grow and develop as learners. Using an easel to model reading, writing and math skills (as well as science and social studies) is essential in our classroom. An easel allows students the opportunity for them to come sit on the rug altogether and see things up close and personal in an intimate setting. They can see, hear, and practice during lessons as I display books, writing pieces, math strategies, as well as other skills on the easel for them. We can also correct any misconceptions they may have which is so important in acquiring knowledge.

The easel I am requesting has a large magnetic whiteboard, storage tubs, holds large chart paper and big books.

This will make my teaching much more effective and my students will have a clearer, easier way to access their skills and information during their lessons.
