Learning Made Fun!

Help me give my students sensory and hands on materials to explore with in coordination with their learning modalities. Allow them to learn while playing educational games! I have witnessed the benefits of making learning FUN!

My Students

My students walk into the classroom every day with many backgrounds, stories, situations and struggles but no matter what, they still try so very hard. I teach learning support students and over 75% of my children from year to year are on free/reduced breakfast and lunch. They often do not get to experience other things that children take for granted but we try our very best here to provide the same opportunities for ALL children like book fair shopping, field trips that cost money that the parent is supposed to provide, backpacks filled with food on the weekends so that we are certain that they are eating when they aren't with us, hygiene items and clothes so that they can feel fresh and awake, ready to learn each day!

Despite so many hardships that most of these children encounter, my students are always eager to learn and do their best.

We need more interactive items to make this happen. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. They truly are a blessing to me and I adore working with each and every child!

My Project

These hands on playdoh and sensory beads will make a huge difference in my children's learning. I have taught special education for 19 years and have experiences the COUNTLESS benefits of the various learning modalities within the class. My students are able to learn and focus for much longer periods of time when being able to construct things with their hands. It also strengthens their fine motor skills, which many are lacking when they enter my class. I am SO EXCITED for them to use these mediums as they learn!

Also, the group games are a HUGE motivation in applying the skills they learned to the games that we play.

I use a ton of educational games in my classroom on a regular basis but considering that I've been teaching for almost 2 decades, many of my items are really getting worn out and unusable. On behalf of myself and my students, THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your support!!!!
