This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us learn to love reading! So many of my students become frustrated with boring text, and activities that don't hold their interest. They are struggling readers, and need exciting games and activities to help enhance their learning experience.
I teach a wonderful group of 28 first grade students.
Though they come from low-income families, and a neighborhood stricken with poverty, they are eager to come to school and learn! We are part of a K-8 school, and unfortunately it is one that does not have enough money to provide resources that would help meet the needs of all of our students.
My Project
Literacy games would help our students learn simple phonics skills, that will help build fluent readers. The students will be able to use these games during reading centers, and reinforce skills that are taught during our reading workshop.
Children can learn so much when they are immersed in fun and exciting games, such as the ones we have requested!
We hope that you will consider helping us become better readers, and giving us the opportunity to have resources that will be so beneficial to our classroom!
With your help, these young learners can become readers!
