Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My goal is to utilize these games and activities to engage my student's playful curiosity and link it to their literacy goals. These activities focus on narrative and story elements without throwing another rubric at them. I want to have the tools to teach them these concepts directly and then target them in another context that takes the ideas out of the abstract and into the tangible.
All of these materials allow my students to use narrative concepts in small bite-sized portions and move them out of the conceptual into the tangible as strategies in gameplay format.
These kids love to play and when I can use games to address their goals they are ignited in their learning. They are absorbed in the session and committed to the task. Please help me get my kids excited to reach their literacy goals when they come to speech!
