I teach at Burgaw Elementary School, which is located in the rural city of Burgaw, NC in Pender County. We are a Title One school with over 73% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. I am currently teaching the second grade. I teach all of the second grade English Language Learners (ELL).
I am seeking funding for some Literacy Overhead Kits that would help my students learn phonics, sounds, and word building skills. I truly feel with all my heart that this program will be of great help to all of my students. These kits will meet the diverse needs of my students. So many learn how to read in different ways. It will allow them to explore words, letters, and sounds, and will enhance their love for reading. I want my students to have as many learning tools as possible and I feel this would be perfect.
