This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our elementary school is a Title I school in the city of Maywood. Most of the students at my school are English language learners.
For most preschool students, it is their first year of the learning experience.
This year my group is such an exciting group of mixed personalities, interests, abilities, and goals. My students are enthusiastic learners. They are learning how to write their names, write letters, and learn their sounds. They also are learning how to write numbers as well as one-to-one correspondence. They are very social online and enjoy daily breakout rooms to interact with peers. My group loves to sing listen to books, learn new games, and boogie to a sweet tune.
My Project
My classroom will be the first academic experience for most of my students. I aim to engage students and their families in our classroom community. We will spend our days exploring various manipulatives and learning how to collaborate. Our preschool community will be a fun and exciting place to grow both academically and emotionally. I aim to make learning engaging to all my students. My preschoolers will learn letters and sounds throughout the school year. The puppets for each letter will engage my students in learning the whole year and make my lessons fun, meaningful,and interactive.
