This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a diverse group of students in an international middle school in Montgomery County. They come from a variety of backgrounds, each bringing their own unique stories to our class. I want to empower my students to be confident and successful, while embracing their cultural backgrounds.

My Project

Students come to middle school not knowing much about science labs, or how to follow certain procedures. Making hypotheses, measuring things with the metric system, and lab safety are a few things that are important for students to learn early on.

By teaching students these procedures in a fun way, they will remember them in the long run for high school and beyond.

Students will use these supplies to do an experiment where they will make slime. They will be very excited about the process, while also learning major skills along the way. Thank you for your support!
