My Students

This will be my second year teaching at a low-income/high-poverty school. I teach second grade. As heartbreaking as it is, most of my students are faced with many challenges in and out of the classroom.

All of my students deserve to be healthy and happy.

Though I cannot control what happens outside of the classroom, I can control what happens inside. My students come to class feeling loved, supported, and engaged. I have a wide range of students in my classroom. Some students are brilliant, and some have developmental delays. This does not stop me from providing them the education that they need.

I love all of my students, and they each bring joy to my life as a teacher.

I look forward to building a positive classroom during my second year of teaching.

My Project

I was fortunate enough to get learning kits for most of my students. However, more students need to be added to my classroom, and I need additional kids. I created this additional project for the 6 more kits needed for a class set. My students have been virtual learning since August. We have made it work and are enjoying our new normal. All of our content is 100% online.

Being a low-income school, we do not have many resources to send home, and most students do not have printers to print materials.

These preassembled learning kits from Lakeshore would be a dream come true to my students. They would be able to create projects with the materials and actually have hands-on resources to use. It would be nice to get students off the computer for a little bit and experience learning with their hands again to keep students engaged.
