Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach English language learners in 2nd and 3rd grade. The students I will teach are very limited in their ability to speak, read and write English. Despite that huge obstacle, these students are very motivated to learn.

These eager students never let challenges get them down.

They keep an upbeat, can-do attitude despite these trials.

My Project

Learning English is a long challenging journey. Small, exciting incentives will help my students get motivated to take risks when learning. Incentives will also encourage students to give their best effort when learning new language skills. Pop-its and squishies are all the rage right now, along with cool color-changing pencils.

Toys like pop-its and squishies provide sensory stimulation which helps students focus better and sustain their attention to learning tasks.

These toys are also great stress relievers. Most importantly, these are items my students want, so I know they will work to earn prizes like these.
