This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Welcome to my classroom! Our students are the best! I teach 4th and 5th grade diverse learners or, students with learning disabilities, in a low-income urban school. My students have many different learning styles and require special techniques to reach all of them. What makes our classroom stand out is that we don't teach to the grade, we teach to the student. We look at student's abilities and steer our curriculum towards what they need. We, as diverse learner educators, work as a team in small groups to provide our students a more personal one-on-one learning experience.

My Project

I'm excited to be able to embark on new endeavors and I feel that I'm never too old to learn something new. This professional development is an opportunity that will allow me to reach my students who are not making measurable growth.

Fundations is an extensive program that will allow me to present a carefully structured reading and spelling curriculum using multi-sensory techniques.

This professional development will teach me the foundational skills which will support reading, writing, speaking, and language standards.

This program would benefit my students by being able to reach all types of learners. Diverse educators learn by many different methods. This program includes multi-sensory techniques which will benefit all types of learners.
