Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It is great to know that there are many ways to help students who do not have the resources to compete with their counterparts who have greater assets.
My students come from families who are economically disadvantaged (almost 100%), the school is Title I, and 79 percent are At Risk, but still, they are hungry for learning.
My idea is that my kindergarteners become fluent readers with high levels of comprehension and be able to master the Math concepts by the end of the school year. I want to give them the tools and confidence that they will need to be ready for the next grade levels and eventually to be ready for college.
My Project
My students need the Apple MacBook Air to improve their technology skills and excel in their learning with engaging lessons.
The Apple MacBook Air will be used as a workstation to enhance their Reading, Math, and technology skills.
The Reading software that my students will use is Istation and MyOn with books in Spanish and English. They will use DreamBox Learning for Mathematics. The activities in the software are personalized and with high levels of differentiation that will reach 100% of my students. The students who do not master specific learning objectives will have greater opportunities to work on the computer during their free time or any other convenient occasion.
