My Project

Hobbies are often overlooked in the school setting, but studies show that people who have hobbies are more likely to manage anxiety and depression better than those who don't have hobbies. Additionally, having a hobby can enhance well-being and improve social connections. I'd like to give my students a variety of experiences to help them develop skills to give them a sense of pride in themselves. Students with skills they're proud of are more likely to have higher self-esteem than those who don't develop skills and hobbies.

My goal is to have regular fun learning days where students can develop skills that can lead to a lifetime of health and wellness.

Let’s get creative with photos and stickers! With this project, students will create and capture images around the school to turn into stickers. The stickers will be our way to create and celebrate in the school. The stickers can be used on their water bottles, notebooks, folders, etc. With stickers, creating and collecting will open up so many unique opportunities for students to celebrate with each other. We can use the DJI stabilizer to make our stickers. We can use a wallet to have a place to keep all of our login info cards organized. We need hats and sunglasses to have props for our stickers. We need a portable battery charger to make sure the device stays ready for use to create our stickers.

Providing students with identity-affirming resources like a new skill or hobby will help them develop their self-esteem and give them something to be proud of. It's important to give students a lot of choices so they can find the skills that resonate with them. Thanks for partnering with me to support all of my students!
