My Students

My students are incredibly smart and resilient. They all want to do there best and are so eager to learn.

My students have been so positive this year even with the ever changing circumstances regarding COVID-19.

It has been amazing to see them adapt and grow each and every day.

My Project

The last couple of years have been hard on student learning and many of my students are behind and need extra support in reading and math. For many of my students this is a difficult task and I want to make learning fun and engaging. At our school we have a special time set in our day for WIN (What I Need) time that allows me to give more individual instruction and attention to a small group of students. I want to have durable fun materials that I can utilize during this time to meet students where they are at and help catch up on learning that has been lost during this pandemic.

I believe that students retain information better when they are engaged in their learning and for second graders that often means they need to find the fun in their learning.

The headphones are needed for students to become confident in speaking and listening, as well as their ability to comprehend text that is read out loud. The books will allow my students to have books that are at their level so that they can become more confident readers. The mesh containers will allow us to properly store our materials that we use during our WIN time. In my classroom we use whiteboard markers and erasers everyday, my class does 75% of their math on their desks using whiteboard markers. We go through a ton of markers each quarter. These markers will allow us to continue doing math the way my students love.

All of these materials will benefit my amazing students and help them with what they need, but in a way that helps keep them engaged.
