Learning is Fun When Your Stomach is Not Growling!
Help me give my students some energy and gain their attention by providing them with snacks and most needed materials so that they are not hungry or focused on other things during class.
Frustration and lack of focus stems from hunger and being hungry. My students are like my babies and I don't want to be teaching them a lesson on multiplying decimals and they can't focus on the lesson because they are hungry. Many students come from one parent households where sometimes food can be a tight situation. I want my students to feel that if they miss breakfast, lunch, or dinner the night before they are welcome to have a snack of some sort while in my class.
The candy that is in my cart will be used as an incentive to keep all of my students engaged in our current lesson and the snacks in my cart will be given to any student in need that is hungry no matter what the reason may be.
From previous classes I have taught, I have noticed how having candy keeps the students engaged and requires the students to participate in the lesson because they know they will get a sweet treat for answering a question correctly or just by paying attention to my teaching. I hope that I can be able to provide my students with a quick snack that will allow them to focus on learning all about math and not be worried about what they plan on eating after school or during lunch with the help of your donations.
In my cart you will also see notebook paper and copy paper. These items will be used to allow me to print paperwork and assignments for my students during the school year. The notebook paper will strictly be used by my students for their AVID binders when they are out of paper. I want to ensure that all my students have their basic necessities at an easy access for their success.
