Learning Is Fun On A Mini!

My students need 2 Ipad minis to give them a way to apply learned skills. They also need 2 protection plans because you never know what will happen with 1st graders!

My Students

Grabbing and keeping the attention of a room full of first graders is very difficult, much less keeping them interested what they are being taught! Having Ipads would allow for my students to have a chance to not only learn and apply skills that are being taught but to have fun doing it!

I am a teacher in a small town in Georgia.

Many of you have probably never even heard of it. My school is a Title I school in a very rural community. We do not have the funding to be able to supply our students with much of the technology that they deserve. My classroom is a full inclusion co-teaching classroom. I currently have 7 students with varying learning disabilities and 8 regular ed students. I have a sweet group of students that are hungry and willing to learn. They love to be involved and engaged in their learning. They just need a little help getting there.

My Project

Having Ipad minis accessible in the classroom would allow for so many different opportunities for my students. In my classroom my co-teacher and I spend a great deal of time trying to reach each student on their individual levels. Having Ipad minis would allow for me to have one child working on their letter recognition while I work with another student on blending and chunking words. I can have a group during our station time in math work in an app that meets their individual learning needs. While the students are having fun they will have no idea that they are actually learning! The opporunities are limitless!

This is so important because there is no way that we would be able to get these Ipads without this project being funded.

I truly want my students to grow into confident, lifelong learners. I firmly believe that these Ipads will help me push them onto that path.
