Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a second grade class with 15 students. My class learns two subjects Spanish and English. Literacy is important my students to achieve and grow, and they face many challenges. My students vary in knowledge and language skills. A few speak no English, but that is not their native language. My students vary in their ability to speak English, but they get lots of practice time. Students learn from one another and during group activities. Finding their books, and manipulative is important to the flow of the classroom. Students share many activities and learn through center/station and rotation activities.
My Project
All students will cherish a storage place to store their supplies and school items. The students are directed to use their cubbies for storing books, materials, and literacy journals. student can use there writing boards for math diagrams and solving problems. Magnetic boards help with hands on activities, writing, magnetic alphabets. The boards are also used for exit tickets, show and tell answers. The boards can be reused across the curriculum. Alignment with and making their answers visible to the entire class. Easy access to the boards and easy storage is vital.
