Learning Is Easy With An Easel

My Students

At our school, we foster a community of students with strong character and high self-esteem who display critical thinking skills that will enable them to become life-long learners. Our staff members and parents work together to educate more than 600 children in grades Pre K-5th. Our school is considered a Title I School with 100% of our students receiving free and reduced lunch. The 3rd-grade students consist of four different class sections; totaling 100 students.

My classroom consists of 25 amazing students.

Each student is unique and brings vivacious energy to the classroom. Out of those 25 students, 2% of them are reading at a third-grade level. The remaining 98% are reading below grade level, with the majority of them falling three grades below grade level. Though Arrowpoint has many interventions in place for these students, many of them are lacking the necessary resources to continue working at home.

My Project

We need a new easel to improve student learning. The easel I'm requesting for my scholars will be a tool to support their diverse needs when learning. The easel I'm requesting will be used during whole group instruction to display literacy and math in a visual way. It will also be used to display examples, and model how to do an activity. The easel also provides a lot of storage space. I will be able to display anchor charts throughout the day without having to lose board space. I can imagine myself teaching a variety of lessons while students sit eagerly on the carpet. They will be able to see the lesson come to life and enhance their learning through visions and interactions.
