My Students
My students are three to five year old Head Start students in the Duquesne area. They come from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures. For many, this is their first time in school, but some are returning students who are glad to help the younger students learn what we do in school.
Play is a common language.
Some of my students speak English, some speak Arabic, but they all love to play. And when children play together they are always learning something new.
My Project
Fred Rogers said, "Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood." As early childhood educators, we provide an enriching play environment for children to explore and learn as organically as possible. This environment is carefully constructed using intentional learning materials optimized for learning through play.
These quality learning materials will enrich our classroom, captivate our students, and improve student achievement.
The Float and Learn Alphabet Bubbles will captivate students who gravitate to sensory experiences. The Alphabet and Number Learning Locks are perfect for students who enjoy puzzles and matching games. Opening Letter Tubs will excite all students with hands-on discovery. Quality materials make the work of serious play joyous for every child.
