Learning Is a HOOT! Owl Pellets Needed! (Title I)

Help me give my students enough owl pellets to help science education really become hands-on learning!

My Project

Dissecting the owl pellets will allow students to fully understand the food webs and chains that are around us every day. This will also tie science and reading curriculum nicely together, with a once-in-a-lifetime, hands-on opportunity. The pellets allow a diversity of prey to be discovered showing the wide range of dietary items that owls eat. This will stimulate questions as to other diets of animals and humans and why they are so diverse. These second graders could be future scientists! Giving them more hands-on learning will help encourage more science education. The second part of this project is requesting special writer's notebooks to help my students continue to build on writing individual sentences and stronger paragraphs. The students need the writing support.

This project will allow students to have a meaningful experience.

A donation to this project will allow students to have access to kits that they might otherwise never see or use. It will allow team experience, critical thinking and will meet the strict standards now required by the state, and more importantly, allow learning by fun to happen. The 4 Cs in my class is very important - creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. They miss hands-on learning, and this will certainly be memorable! This project allows all 4 Cs to come alive for my students. I want to make learning meaningful and memorable for my class. Thank you for your time.
